With two bands on two dates on the FINAL VANS WARPED TOUR, I went into the Holiday season extra hyped yet anxious.
Anxious because I had no clue of who else would be on Long Island and Holmdel, yet hyped because a major power move was made.
And that meant something.
Especially coming from a brown woman in Brooklyn who always had a dream of working in music.
I made it through my third grueling holiday season in retail, and once the first week of January hit, I got a pleasant surprise that made my 11 hour mid-week work day worth it.
It was another email from Kevin’s camp! This one had me almost crying happy tears of joy in-between selling vintage jewelry to customers.
Treads will be tearing up the Full Sail University Stage on the July 14th and July 29th dates of this summer’s Vans Warped Tour.

Nihiloceros will be bringing their thrash-punk to the July 28th and July 29th dates of this summer’s final Vans Warped Tour.
NOTE: Moral Support and Home Seeker were added to the Mansfield, MA date at a later time, and both Treads and Nihiloceros were added to Columbia, MD
And just like that, there were 8, yes E-I-G-H-T bands from New York spread over 6 dates of the Vans Warped tour.
I can’t speak for past tours in terms of how many bands from NYC were on, but this year was gonna be a blast.
For some, it meant playing on a stage where many of them got a taste of the live music landscape. For others it meant their first VWT experience EVER as a fan AND as an artist playing.
But perhaps something that gave me joy was that NONE of the bands knew what I was doing from the jump. And to hear the joy and literal “Holy shit is this happening” was pretty awesome.
It’s nice to do things for folks when they aren’t expecting it, and this was one of those moments.
So, while you are making your summer plans, and hopefully those include Warped, here are the full dates that everyone is playing The Full Sail University stage. Every band is chocked full of good people as well as good musicians and I am pretty stoked to call some of these folks dear friends.
Also, keep in mind, your favorite larger bands were once smaller bands playing a smaller stage or venue.
